The Festival of Life and Death of Xcaret is one of the best ways to celebrate the Day of the Dead in the Riviera Maya.
Day of the Dead was cataloged as intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO in 2008.
This festival brings together musical, gastronomic, folkloric expressions and artists around this Mexican celebration. It is a mix between tradition and an interpretation very much in the style of this ecological park. In each edition, a state/province of Mexico is the guest of honor, highlighting its culture, its own Day of the Dead celebration, its gastronomy and music.
From October 30 to November 3 and the festival's own activities take place from 3:45 pm to 10:30 pm in Xcaret Park and in Playa del Carmen.
During the 5 days of the festival there is normally special transportation to Xcaret from Playa del Carmen and Cancun with the bus company ADO.
