Tulum (Mexico) will now have its own airport and recently, Delta announced that it will be the first US airline to land at said airfield. Now, British Airways executives have expressed their interest in becoming the first European airline to operate routes to the Felipe Carrillo Puerto facilities.
This was revealed by the Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, Miguel Torruco, after his visit to the United Kingdom tourism fair, World Travel Market 2023. The directors of the British airline consider that both the Tulum International Airport and the project of the Mayan Train will contribute to diversifying the tourist offer in southeastern Mexico.
As the newspaper PorEsto! has learned, the executives with whom Torruco met were Marc James, director of Destinations at British Airways, and Robbie Compion, director of Planning for the airline.
It should be noted that the British market already occupies fourth place for Mexico and its favorite destinations are locations such as Cancún and Riviera Maya.
